Previously: Principal of BLU; Board member of UK Strategic Rail Authority, Chairman of the UK's National Disability Council; Chairman of the UK Government's Business Link Accreditation Advisory Board; joint Managing-Director: Business in the Community; Director of The Prince of Wales Innovation Award; and joint MD of the Prince's Youth Business Trust. Co-founder of Project North East.

Educated at Cambridge and Brussels Universities.
